Perfectly balanced, our 2012 Chardonnay delivers an intensity of bright, refreshing flavors in a juicy, supple style. White peach, fresh tropical fruits and fragrant orange blossoms are layered with spicy vanilla oak. Winemaker Jim Corkin chose to barrel ferment a portion of the wine, which gave just the right amount of weight and complexity to the vibrant fruit flavors. The result is a dynamic palate that evolves as it progresses, lingering with a long finish of citrus and baking spices. Enjoy this wine with light pasta dishes, grilled seafood or roast chicken.
This Chardonnay is another one of the wonderful wines I received during Christmas in my Wine Gift Basket. As per usual, I was hesitant to open this bottle of white since I’m not a big fan of white wines. But I do enjoy tasting new wines and my husband prefers white wines.
I found this Sterling Chardonnay to have a very fruity scent (which excited me, lol) and the color of the Chardonnay is simply wonderful. I would love to have a dress in that beautiful pale gold. The Chardonnay tasted rather tart but with a fruity aftertaste. It’s a little dry for my tastes but I could detect a hint of peaches and vanilla.
I can’t say I was the biggest fan of this Chardonnay but I will try it again to see if it will grow on me.
