It’s Lily Parker’s first day at a new high school. She’s a senior finishing her last semester, and all she wants to do is graduate and get out of town. Her home life is a secret hell, and she’s trying to find a way out. But everything changes when Ren says hello and sees right through to her truth.

Ren Hendrick’s succeeds at everything he touches, including football. But he’s never been passionate about anything. He’s quiet and keeps to himself, which pisses people off. But he can’t find the desire to care. He’s lived a life without color, until Lily walks in and lights up his world.

Their story is one of sweet young love and finding your forever before you can even dream of what that is. It’s one of protecting what belongs to you and having the courage to follow your heart, no matter your age.

Warning: Call your dentist and schedule an appointment, because you’re going to get nothing but cavities from this sugary book. Ren and Lily start off so innocent, but by the time it’s over, you’re gonna need to hose yourself off. We’re talking two virgins who turn into maniacs. You’re welcome!

I liked Shielding Lily!

Unlike a lot of other recently AR books, Shielding Lily is longer and has a lot more of a plot. There are conversations between the H/h and time passes. The MCs don’t have sex within the first 5 mins of meeting each other. OMG. LOVED IT. I even think I’m gonna go re-read the beginning because that was the best part (to me). Well, that plus the adorably sweet epilogue.

Other than the things I mention about, Shielding Lily is still a pretty typical AR book: virgin MCs, love at first sight, etc. I really enjoyed the length and the fact that the two actually talked a bit: to each other and to multiple other people. There was a good handful of characters in this one, y’all! Made me wriggle like a puppy, lol. Though I have to say the sex isn’t quite as…hot. But I still point to the first book in the Forced Submission series as her “hottest” work.

I was recently discussing AR’s upcoming book Everything for Her which will be AR’s first full-length book AND her first traditionally published book (HQN). I have quite a few qualms about the price point (currently pre-ordering for Dec 2016 delivery) at $4.99 since it is a HUGE jump from AR’s current prices and it is not in Kindle Unlimited. That makes me…concerned. I love reading AR’s work but she gives me something rather specific that I am not normally willing to spend $5 on. But I have to say that Shielding Lily gives me a great deal of hope! I still don’t know if I’m willing to pay $4.99 – I mean, that’s a price point I reserve for my Fully Trusted Authors™ so….
