Kyrie Kent hates baseball. She hates players even more. When her best friend drags her to a Ravens game, she spends the innings reading a book… Until she gets a glimpse of the closer—a pitcher who draws her like a magnet. Fighting her attraction to Easton Holliday is easy. All she has to do is keep her distance, avoid the ballpark, and keep her head down. At least, all that would have worked, but Easton doesn’t intend to let Kyrie walk so easily. When another player vies for Kyrie’s attention, Easton will swing for the fences. But will Kyrie strike him out or let him steal home?
Full disclosure: This is an erotic romance full of hot guys in tight baseball pants, even more guys in tight baseball pants who know how to swing a big stick, and explicit sex.
I’m not sure what to say.
I…picked this up because reasons but the read was not enjoyable. I spent most of the time rolling my eyes at it all, tbh.
There was an amazing amount of insta-love/insta-lust that I did.not.buy. in the least. I rolled my eyes every time these two got together. The “I love yous” and/or the “love realization” takes place so fast it made my head spin. I was so disengaged with the story/characters that I did not enjoy the sex and skipped it.
What did I like about Cleat Chaser? Easton’s sister, Kasey. Loved her, for the most part. Kasey was loud, rude, over sexed and hilarious. I found the section where Easton and whatsherface walked in on Kasey and her
girlfriend hook-up in the middle of a BDSM scene. I laughed so hard I didn’t know what to do with myself.
“Fingers go in knuckle deep, ready that pussy for a feats. Grip them up and swirl the spot, thumb that clitty ’til it’s nice and hot. Flick the tongue and watch her squirm, give the thumb another turn. Slip the pinky in the bum, watch her scream your name and come.”
-Kasey, page 91
All in all, not my favorite but others my like it a lot better. Or in other words: Come for the cover but stay for Kasey.
